St Julian's is the gateway to Sliema and Paceville. Situated next to Sliema it is home to some nice restaurants, bars and also some of Malta's busiest streets. Spinola Bay, once a simple bay where fishermen fished for generations is now busier with constant flows of people and traffic. Although it is also one of Malta's most picturesque corners and features some nice restaurants which enjoy a romantic setting and nice view.

At the back end of St Julian's is the area known as Paceville. Seemingly shoved out of the way from the rest of Malta, is this purposely manufactured tourist area. A hub of bars, nightclubs, internet cafes and restaurants, which comes to life at night and is quiet during the day. Most bars during peak season open until three or four in the morning and are frequent haunts for tourists and Maltese alike. Home to eighty percent of Malta's nightlife offerings it can get very busy in the months of August. Friendly, welcoming bars with drinks on average around the 70cents mark. There is something for everyone from tacky to sophisticated, it's just a matter of finding what suits your taste.

Paceville is also home to the newly built Bay Street Complex, consisting of many modern shops and a couple of bars. Buses are frequent and plentiful and there is also a night bus that runs until around 4 am during the weekend. This is slightly more expensive than the normal buses but at 50c much cheaper than the taxi's.
